Present in Livarot since 1910, the E. Graindorge cheese dairy is a run business located in the heart of the Pays d’Auge. Three generations of cheese makers have succeeded one another to produce Livarot and Pont l’Evêque, cheeses that are Norman Protected Designation of Origin (PDO) cheeses.
The Village Fromager has been offering visits to the E. Graindorge cheese dairy since 2004. This is a unique concept allowing visitors to discover cheese workshops through a corridor of glass-protected galleries, from where visitors may understand all the different stages of cheese production from the time the milk arrives until the cheese is packaged (films, information panel boards and games).
E. Graindorge cheese visit ends with a free tasting of our four Norman PDO cheeses in our terroir boutique: assorted cheese platters: (Livarot, Pont l’Eveque, Normandy Camembert and Neufchatel)
The aim is simple; to have a friendly way to discover the Norman flavours with specially ripened cheese tastings. The opportunity to have a good time with friends, family or even colleagues.
Four options are available:
“The Normandy Taste”: Platter made up of four cheeses of PDO RAW MILK Normandy cheeses: Livarot, Pont l’Evêque, Normandy Camembert and Neufchâtel. The portions are generous and accompanied with bread and a glass of cider (possibility to replace the glass of cider with apple juice for children or for those not drinking alcohol.).
“The 6 Normandy Savour Platter”: You can choose for yourself the 6 cheese platter you would prefer from a variety of 9 specially refined cheeses. All accompanied with bread and a glass of cider (possibility to replace the glass of cider with apple juice for children or for those not drinking alcohol.).
“The Kiddies Platter”: The Village Fromager caters for kids… We offer a platter for children made up of 4 pieces of cheese. Each child will leave with a present!
“The roasted Camembert”: Accompanied with honey and herbs of Provence … a real treat for the taste buds!
